Frequently Asked Questions

A physiotherapist is a highly trained healthcare professional who helps individuals restore, maintain and maximize their physical strength, function, and mobility. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or seeking to improve your overall wellness, a physiotherapist can develop a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals and live your best life.

At Activex Physio we have an exercise first approach. This means your rehab will be based around tailored exercise progressions around your injury or goals to improve strength, mobility and coordination. This is then combined with a hands on approach with manual therapy (such as massage, dry needling, shockwave therapy) where required.

You may need to see a physiotherapist if you are experiencing any type of physical pain or discomfort, recovering from an injury, dealing with a chronic condition, or seeking to improve your overall mobility and strength.

Many people believe Physiotherapy is only useful for injury rehabilitation. However, there are many benefits to physiotherapy beyond just overcoming a musculoskeletal injury. Some of the applications of physiotherapy include;

  • Maximise athletic performance
  • Minimize risk of future injury
  • Pre & Post operation management
  • Acute accidents (ankle sprain, fracture, back sprain, fall, etc.)
  • Pain
  • Headaches
  • Postural health & work set-up
  • Dizziness or Vestibular conditions

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, cutting-edge medical treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to alleviate chronic pain and promote healing. This innovative therapy can effectively treat a variety of conditions, including tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders. With fast and lasting results, shockwave therapy is a safe and effective alternative to surgery and prescription pain medications. Whether you’re an athlete looking to improve your performance or simply seeking relief from persistent pain, shockwave therapy may be able to help you reach your goals.

If you are unsure whether Shockwave Therapy is right for you, give our friendly staff a Call, or drop us your enquiry via the Contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
